About Overseex

Space coverage is either too shallow or too scattered. Overseex exists to fix the second problem: one calm, well-organised place that tracks everything happening off this planet and tells you what is worth your attention.

What we do

We continuously ingest headlines from more than thirty space publications and primary agency sources — NASA, ESA, SpaceX, Spaceflight Now, SpaceNews, NASASpaceflight and others — through the Spaceflight News API. Alongside that we pull the full orbital launch manifest from Launch Library and the daily image archive from NASA.

For every story we write our own one-sentence summary, file it into topic clusters, cross-link it to the launch it covers, and rank it by what readers are actually reading. Then we link straight to the publisher who did the reporting.

What we do not do

We do not republish anyone's full article. Each story here is a headline, a short original summary, and a prominent link to the source. The reporting belongs to the journalists who did it, and the traffic should go to them.

Sources and rights

Headlines and source summaries belong to their original publishers and appear here as short excerpts with attribution and a link. NASA imagery is public domain; we do not use the NASA insignia and nothing here implies NASA endorsement. Where a photographer holds copyright on an Astronomy Picture of the Day image, we credit them by name.

See the full source list for everything we draw on.

How this is funded

By readers. The weekly dispatch is free and always will be. Paid membership adds daily briefings, launch alerts and members-only analysis, and it is what keeps the site running. We may run display advertising in future; members will never see it.

Corrections

If we have summarised something inaccurately, tell us and we will fix it. Accuracy matters more here than speed — the whole point of a calm publication is that you can trust what it says.
